Day 85: Core Synergistics

When we did this workout the first time I thought it was really hard. Today, I decided it was the second easiest. I think only Kenpo is easier. I still like it; it still makes me sweat and push myself but not in an "I'm gonna puke" kind of way. I'm feeling pretty good. I'm down to 219. I'd like to get to 215 by the end of the week but I don't know if I'll be able to get there. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with 53 total lbs, but my goal (that seemed totally unrealistic at the time) was 215. I find myself kind of wanting to skip recovery and go right back into the next 90 days but I think it's probably important to give my muscles a chance to recover. I'm anxious to do the fit test and see how much I've improved on everything. Kenpo X tomorrow then X Stretch, Core Synergistics, and Yoga X. Size 36 pants are now fairly baggy and I can get into my old Large T-shirts instead of my tight XXL's I was wearing 85 days ago. I honestly never thought I'd make it this far. I'd like to lose another 25 to 30 lbs next time through. I'll be done just in time for the holidays. Gulp!

Day 80: Yoga X

Tonight is Yoga X. I am really starting to enjoy Yoga X. It's hard in the beginning but I can do all of the pushups now and do upward dog the whole time instead of going into cobra. I still can't do any of the shoulder stand stuff but I can do crane for almost a minute at a time and I can do wheel the whole time. I'm feeling pretty good. I have ten days to go and the progress I've seen has been incredible. I have lost 50 lbs. Lost in places I needed to lose and gained in places I wanted to gain. Twelve more pounds and I will weigh what I did when Brandy and I got married. My arms are the biggest they've ever been. I can feel my abs underneath the fat and skin left over and can't wait to start the next 90 days to go ahead and rid myself of that. I am up to about 40 pullups per workout now. I started at 1 pullup in the beginning. I'm doing around 20-25 pushups per set unless they are diamonds or dive bombers and then it is more like 10-15. I'm really stoked about going through again. I don't think the results will be quite as drastic the next time around but even if they are a shadow of the first time it should be awesome.

Day 66: Back and Biceps

Man, this workout is still awesome! I feel like my arms are going to tear out of my skin after this workout. I was able to do most of the bicep stuff with 35's last night @ 8-10 reps. Any of the biceps I couldn't do with 35's I went to 25's @ 12-15 reps. I did the strip set with 45, 35, 30, 25 @ 8 reps each. I am able to do 3 pullups on all of the back stuff now without a chair. I do as many as I can which hasn't reached 4 yet and then finish the ten out with a chair. Also, I'm able to do all of the ab ripper stuff now. It's not perfect form but I'm getting there. Yoga X tonight. Should be good stuff.

Day 65

Well, I haven't posted on here in a long time but I am having great results. I restarted in May and have really stuck with it this time. Any days that Dad and I missed we made up. Jared has started working out with us. I think this is his second week and he hasn't missed. I have lost a total of 45 pounds. I can tell such a huge difference in my arms and chest and stomach area. I don't think I'm going to get my six-pack this time around but I know I will next time. I am going to start over immediately at the end of this 90 days. Bran is going to start with me then. I can make it through every workout now. I can't always do the stuff they are doing, but I can try to get close. Yoga is still tough for me but every time we do it I can do more. I started at 272 this time around and am now at 225. I think at 200 I will be in the best shape of my life. I originally wanted to get down to 185 but my muscle mass has increased so much that I don't know if I can get that low. My pants size has gone from a tight 40 to a baggy 36. I tried on 34's yesterday and they fit but were really tight. I have NEVER been skinnier than a 34 in my adult life. I am really stoked about getting to day 90 and starting again.

Day 13: I am a girly man

I did plyometrics and shoulders and arms and still really like the S & A workout. I still feel like I'm gonna puke during and immediately after plyometrics. I missed Yoga and Legs and Back. I missed Kenpo too but made it up tonight on my rest day. I got a really good workout. I feel kinda tough while doing this workout. Like if someone was to step in front of me they might get hurt. Unfortunately there are only two very small children in the house. I wish Jared had been there. Ha Ha. I was incredibly sweaty when I finished (like after football practice sweaty). I am going to start week 3 tomorrow with Chest and Back. I did really well on my eating today. When I bomb on the eating I have a hard time wanting to workout. I'm looking forward to Chest and Back tomorrow.

Day 8: Chest and Back

I really like this workout. I feel like I'm gonna puke by about halfway but I know that's just because I'm pushing it. I am super sore today so I know I got a great workout. I'm getting better at this workout and at Ab Ripper X. Plyometrics tonight. I'm gonna work out House of Pain style.

Days 5, 6, and 7

Day 5: Legs and Back

I didn't do very well on these. I was so tired on the legs that I just did what I could until I couldn't do anymore which was with about 25 minutes left in the video. As far as back goes I hate doing pull-ups with a chair but for now it's all I can do.

Day 6: Kenpo

I missed on this day.

Day 7: Rest or Stretch

I figure God rested on the seventh day soooo.....

I have lost 15 lbs. already and I feel really good. I am looking forward to getting back in gear on chest and back tonight.

Don's Day 3 and 4

Day 3: Shoulders and Arms

I did the best that I have done on any of the workouts on this one. I think it is because even though it got my blood-pumping I know my strength or lack of strength in these areas. I am much more familiar with these movements and lifts, although some of the variations were new and pretty difficult. I really liked this workout. I also did alright on Ab Ripper X. I made it through even though I was unable to complete all the reps. I am pretty sure by the end of 90 days I'll be able to do all the reps.

Day 4: Yoga X

I hate this workout. Not only am I not coordinated enough to do a lot of it. I am as flexible as a piece of cast iron. There isn't really anything good that I could say about this one except that I tried it. I want to break some stuff right now.... pretty sure that would make me feel better. So far this is the only video that has made me think I may not be able to do most of the stuff they are doing by the end. I'm still gonna keep bringing it even if I can't reach under my thigh and grab my hand that is behind my back while keeping one leg bent to the front and one leg straight behind me and then turn my torso away from my body.

Don's Day 1 and 2

Day 1: Chest and Back

Man, really hard. I didn't know what to expect and didn't pace myself well enough. I got through the first round of exercises but basically just watched the second round. I tried to push through but my muscles were already too exhausted.

Day 2: Plyometrics X

I am so stoked! I made it through the whole freaking video. I wanted to quit sooo bad at about 30 minutes left and then at about 15 minutes left but both times Abby came in and asked if I was okay because "um, your face is REALLY red, daddy". It just made me think I am going to be in shape and not be a big fattie. I want her to know it isn't okay to be this out of shape. Also, Tony kept saying "you can do anything for 30 seconds" and surprisingly enough that helps a bunch when he says that little phrase because it is true. I have been done with the workout for almost an hour now and am still cooling down. I moved all 270 of my pounds of my big fat butt around the living room tonight and brought it! Bring on Shoulders and Arms! I am just gonna keep doing what I can and pushing myself. 88 days left. No more fatty.
